Zombie, Run...

I downloaded the funnest application for the G1. It's a GPS based game. You set a destination and decide on the speed of the zombies and the level of infestation. The choices are (2mph) Night of the Living Dead, (5mph) Resident Evil, or (8mph) 28 Days Later; and the infestation levels are Controlled Outbreak, Early Local Infestation, Late Local Infestation, or Total Pandemic. Then you run. If you get caught, the screen goes black and says "AAARGH!!! BRAAAAAAINS!!!!" If you make it then you get a little "Survived" screen. Taylor and I took a walk down to the local Taj convenience store avoiding zombies along the way. It was sooo much fun. We had it on the 2mph setting- which enabled us to walk most of the way. There were a couple of times we had to sprint to keep from getting cut off, but once ahead of them you could keep the lead. It's hard not to scream out loud though when the phone starts buzzing to warn you that the zombies are gaining on you. Taylor and I were laughing that it'd be really easy to get so caught up in the game you'd start cutting across peoples yards and hopping fences to avoid the brain eating hordes. We could just picture running through someones yard, interrupting their evening BBQ and you pause to catch your breath and just gasp "...zombies..." and then take off again. I'm still chuckling at the image. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to many zombie infested walks/runs this summer.

That sounds like a great game and a great way to get hit by a car jay-walking to avoid Zombies (It's a well know fact that Zombies use the cross-walk)
I love the mental of interupting someones backyard barbecue.
Makes me want to get a G1 now.

I was totally caught up with the chase as you were describing it, sounds like a good time and a good laugh. You would definately have a case if you got picked up by the cops for trespassing! I can see Gwen just loving it and eating that up with you guys on a walk.

That sounds so fun! I'm so out of the loop on new "toys" down here that I didn't know what a G1 was and thought you could somehow get this just for a plain old GPS...then I clued in and googled it. Darn it -- that would be a blast.

Just be wary of zombies herding you toward a quick death in the busy street, it's easier to get to your brains when a car has already cracked the nut...

Zac, I am loving that imagery... cracked the nut... man, I am so adding that phrase into my lexicon. Awesome.
