This is why we live here. You really can not beat summer in North Idaho. We had our first camping trip of the season this week. Ahh, it was good to be outside! The s'mores were delicious, the fire warm, the garnets big and the moose... err, fast. Gwen made herself a little caterpillar friend at the campsite. She toted that little guy around for a long time! She finally set him free off in the bushes, and anytime anyone went over into that area she would remind them to be careful not to step on her little buddy. Jared won the award for the dirtiest a person can possibly get in 5 minutes- the guy has a talent, I swear! By the end he was a total mud ball! Nathan wasn't far behind! Check out his socks in the picture at the sluice box! Good times!

I'm going camping the day after the bar exam. I can't flippin' WAIT!
I am so jealous I did not get to go. Next time I am going to just be a rebel and miss all the stupid appointments I have. I hate living by a calendar!!!!! I want to get up in the morning and just say, "Hmmmm what do I want to do today?" Were you chasing that poor moose? Did you have to bear proof the campsite? Were there many people out there?
Nothing beats camping! It looks so beautiful. I was hoping to do a lot of camping this summer but Adam has to work almost every weekend this summer. Bummer. I just can't see myself packing up three kids and roughing it by myself but after seeing these pictures I may kidnap grandma and grandpa! Thanks for sharing. P.S. I love the moose. We are going to Yellowstone in July for a weekend, hoping to see a bear. :)

hey el.... looks like fun times for the camping suttons! Trevor and I are talking about taking bennett camping but we are seriously wimpy when it comes down to doing it! I've done such a great job selling CDA that Trevor can't wait to come out this summer! We are thinking of coming for my birthday like Aug. 5th -9th (he doesn't have a lot of time off left). It's so hot here in TX, I bet it's nice and pleasant camping there in ID. So, does it make the winters worth it?? ;) Gwen's so cute with her little caterpillar buddy, and I love the running moose! Awesome!
I'd have to say no, the 2-3 months of summer do not make up for the terrible winters. I'd much rather have to seek AC for 2-3 months out of the year. We're totally moving when we figure out where exactly we want to go, but it will be someplace a lot warmer!!!
