On a whim, I checked out Gwens schools website today. I was puzzled to see that they said that registration was closed, considering we'd been told to go in tomorrow to register. I call... and sure enough- schools full, better luck next year. WTF!!!! The first registration date was during my stay at the hospital. I had called the school district when I got out, and they assured me it was not a problem, to just come in Aug. 25... no worries. The woman did not know what the heck she was talking about and now Gwen can't get into the school that I have already bought all the school supplies and uniforms for. I am distraught. I keep telling myself that it is ok- it's just kindergarten, what school she goes to does not really matter. ....it isn't working. I'm one more piece of bad news away from either going catatonic or building home made bombs out of my garage. really, you just couldn't let gwens starting school just be? why do we keep getting hit with this crap!

Wow, that's just unbelievable. Seriously, on top of everything else... it's gotta get better, it's gotta get better! It's GONNA get better. How's Gwen handling the news?
Ellie, Please take my advice and actually GO TO THE SCHOOL to talk to someone. Explain, try to be sweet, people are usually MUCH more helpful and willing to (wink, wink) bend rules when they have someone there. ALSO, the first few days of school are really fluid. No school really knows who will show up, who will move, who will change districts. While it might be full now, there might be an opening on Day 3 of school. I wouldn't be giving you this advice if I DIDN'T HAVE A SIMILAR-ISH EXPERIENCE.
